About this coin
Four-nines silver with radial lines and a micro-engraved security mark, at a lower premium than the Eagle. Contains 1 troy oz of fine silver (.9999). The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf is the purest mainstream silver bullion coin, at .9999 fine, and usually costs less per ounce than a Silver Eagle.
The Royal Canadian Mint machines radial lines across the field and micro-engraves a maple leaf with the year inside it, both hard to counterfeit and quick to check by eye. Since 2018 the blanks carry MintShield, a surface treatment the mint introduced to reduce the white milk spots that can appear on silver coins.
Silver tones over time. Spots and toning are cosmetic and do not change the silver content or the price you can sell at.
