Terms of sale
The short version: we lock your price, you pay by the deadline, we ship insured. The details below are what applies.
1. Price lock and when an order is binding
Prices follow the live market until you reach payment at checkout, when every price in your cart is locked for 10 minutes. An order placed within that window is a binding agreement at the locked price: we commit that metal and that price to you, whatever the market does next. If the lock expires before you place the order, we re-quote at the market price then.
When metals markets are closed — weekends, and the daily break — we price from the last market close plus 1%, and the product page says so.
2. Payment
- Card: our list price. Payment is taken when you place the order, and an unpaid card order is released after 30 minutes. First-time customers are limited to $5,000 by card.
- Bank account debit, where offered: 4% less than list. You link your account at checkout and authorize us to debit the order total once. Debits take about 4 business days to settle, and we ship a few business days after that. If your bank refuses or returns the debit, the order is cancelled as unpaid (section 3). First-time customers are limited to $10,000 this way.
- Bank transfer (ACH): 4% less than list, due within 3 business days.
- Wire: 4% less than list, due within 1 business day.
We ship once funds have cleared. Online orders are capped at $50,000; larger purchases go through our desk.
3. If payment doesn't arrive
If we haven't received payment by the deadline, we may cancel the order. Because we held that metal and that price for you, you agree to pay any market loss: the fall in the spot value of the order between the lock and the cancellation. We don't charge a cancellation fee on top, and we don't pay out gains if the market rose. We'll email you the figure and how to settle it.
4. Cancellations and returns
Because prices move constantly, orders can't be cancelled or returned for a change of mind once placed. If anything arrives damaged, incorrect or missing, tell us within 3 days of delivery and we'll replace or refund it. The full rules are on our returns page.
5. Shipping and risk
We ship fully insured with a signature required, within 3 business days of your payment clearing. Risk passes to you on signed delivery. If we can't ship within that time, we'll tell you and you may cancel for a full refund.
6. Accepting your order, and pricing errors
An order is an offer to buy, which we accept when we confirm it. We may decline or limit an order — for example if stock has run out, if we can't verify the delivery address, or if the price shown was clearly wrong through a feed or system error. If we decline, you pay nothing and anything already paid is refunded in full.
7. Sales tax
We charge sales tax only where we are registered to collect it, and the rate and the exemptions for bullion are set by your state. Checkout shows any tax before you pay.
8. Buying back
We don't buy metal back at this time. If that changes, we'll publish the terms here before we start.
9. No advice
We sell metal; we don't give investment, tax or legal advice. Metal prices can fall as well as rise, and premiums you pay on purchase are not recovered when you sell.
10. Identity checks and limits
We may ask you to verify your identity, and may limit or decline orders, in line with our anti-fraud and anti-money-laundering obligations. We report transactions where the law requires it.
11. Questions and disputes
Talk to us first: email hello@paper2bullion.com. Most problems are a misread deadline or a delayed transfer and are sorted the same day.
