About this bar

This is the smallest piece of gold we sell. A gram is about 1/31 of a troy ounce, so the cost is low and the premium per ounce is by far the highest in the catalogue: you are paying for refining, assay packaging and handling on a very small piece of metal.
Buy it as a gift, as a way to hold something physical, or to see what refined gold actually looks like. If you are buying gold by the hundreds or thousands of dollars, larger bars and coins give you far more metal for the same money.
We say that plainly because the premium is easy to miss when the ticket price is small.

It contains 0.032151 troy oz of fine gold. At the current spot price of $4,190.28/oz that metal is worth $134.72; our premium for one unit is $34.60 (25.7%), paying by bank transfer. The price updates with spot until you lock it at checkout for 10 minutes.
Why is the card price higher?
Card networks charge us a fee on every card payment. Our list price is the card price; paying by bank transfer (ACH) or wire saves you 4%.
